SHINEUK is offering internships beginning as soon as possible. We have a variety of roles available within the scope of the magazine, from marketing to publishing and events.

This presents a rare and valuable opportunity to participate in magazine production, online reporting and conference curation at the highest level, along with expert experience within the corporate world.

You’ll be an intellectually sharp individual with a genuine interest in growing your career in publishing. Detail-driven, highly efficient and competent online an expert in MS Office applications, you’ll be adept at prioritising to deadlines, pulling together resources and managing your workload. Your ability to share knowledge and grow strong relationships will be critical to your success, so you’ll be a proactive communicator who takes pride in building rapport with your contacts.

All SHINEUK interns will be enrolled on to our ‘Success Path’ programme and any candidate that ‘SHINES’ may also be offered the chance to continue her or his relationship with SHINEUK by contributing to the magazine and website on a freelance basis.

Briefly a little bit about us – We are an online publication, majority of our readers are women in senior executive positions. Our articles are focused on success and performance highlighting inspirational stories about ‘Women who SHINE’

Our readership is currently 150,000 and include major corporations like KPMG, Virgin Money, PepsiCo, Telefonica, UBS and tech companies like Plexal for an example.

Alongside the magazine we offer mentoring programs for corporate clients. Our Editor in Chief is an acclaimed publisher and a bestselling author in the process of publishing her next book. She is also a renowned coach and speaker.

Editorial Assistant

As an Editorial Assistant within our team, you’ll will help to ensure the smooth progression of journal manuscripts from initial submission through peer review to final decision. Day-to-day, your role will be about maintaining editorial rigour and making a significant contribution to the smooth running of the editorial content.

We’re looking for a quick-learner with advanced research skills who’s also obsessed with success and performance. Good writing skills are a must and transcription experience a plus. Web editorial interns will be responsible for assisting in researching online stories, transcribing interviews, and occasionally pitching and writing their own blogs.

That means using online submission and peer review management systems, and collaborating with editors, authors and reviewers as well as internal teams. You’ll also have a real opportunity to shape and improve how we work, through process streamlining and efficient working, as well as through informing strategic decisions.

Social Media Assistant (finger on the pulse)

-An inherent interest in magazine publishing and events — you should have a borderline unhealthy obsession with what’s happening in the city, socially and within city industries.
-You should be on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Tumblr is a big plus.
-You should be a strong writer. We’re more impressed by feeds that are well-written, witty and engaging than ones that have tons and tons of followers.
– A strong appreciation for aesthetics.
– An obvious familiarity with SHINEUK’s social channels, website and magazine and a strong grasp on the SHINEUK voice and sensibility.

Resident geeks

– Help monitor and track social behaviour on all channels.
– Help gather data for weekly traffic reports
– Review analytics and identify notable activity and trends
– Present findings and strategies in editorial meetings
– Gather images from our archives.

Business Development.

The Business Development team is looking for organised, creative thinkers with an interest in learning about brands’ marketing initiatives and how they can fit in with SHINEUK.  You should also be pro-active in researching and building potential partnerships. Ideal applicants are punctual, enthusiastic and proactive self-starters with good problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills who will bring positive vibes to the team.



To assist in developing a PR strategy to develop the corporate profile of SHINEUK Magazine through cost effective, strategic thinking, forward planning and targeted PR, maximising the benefits of story and media segmentation of inspiring women. Concentration on messages likely to create potential story opportunities. · Working within the team to assist in the production of traditional marketing collateral according to agreed guidelines in an efficient and timely manner· Support the work of marketing team on projects directed at maximising company profits and developing sales strategies or marketing campaigns. Excellent organisational skills are a main requirement · Assist, where possible, to monitor and report the outcome of PR and marketing campaigns. Provide administrative support to the Communications and wider team(s) as required · Other tasks and duties as may be reasonably requested.


We are looking for skilful researchers who excel in sourcing information and contacts to work with our Management Team. As a magazine we are constantly creating new connections through potential sponsors, and your contribution will determine much of the success in our future collaborations. We would like you to research and analyse key market sectors and segments as required and assist in the production and supply of mailing lists for campaigns and events.

Events Co-ordinators/ Promotions Team

We’re looking for savvy, quick-learning folks to help out with everything from corporate events to photo shoots. Enthusiasm and a flexible attitude are a must, along with being a people person.

If you feel you want to be part of something new, big and exciting and want your contribution to make a tangible difference within SHINEUK magazine then this is the role you have been looking for.

Shortlisting Criteria

The ideal candidates – ‪Students and Graduates looking to gain experience in the practical aspect of their study. Also open to other individuals who want to gain experience/ further their work portfolio).

Knowledge and experience with the social media platforms: Instagram /twitter / Facebook/ Tumblr

‪Excellent time-management skills. Able to work independently and handle work load. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Have access to a computer & internet and Phone (this will not be provided).

Because of the nature of the role, you’ll have to work from home or virtually. We appreciate that this will be alongside your studies however you will be required to attend brainstorming sessions in the south east of England regularly. We will also be holding fun team building events quarterly after every publication of the magazine.

***This is a non-paid internship with a minimum duration of 10 Months. Trial period of 6 weeks initially***
